Adopt a Mountain Goat

These sure–footed animals can be found in alpine environments of North America and are members of the goat–antelope family and are not true goats. Recognized by their bearded chins, mountain goats have wooly, white fur that provides camouflage in the snowy elements and protects them from the cold temperatures and biting mountain winds. Known for their agility, mountain goats can be seen scaling rocky slopes. They have pliable hooves with two padded toes that give them traction on rocky surfaces. Increased temperatures at higher elevations can pose a threat to mountain goats along with hunting, land development and winter recreation in formerly inaccessible habitat. Help NWF in its efforts to protect and recover the wild places that sustain wildlife. Adopt a mountain goat today!
