Black bears are classified as carnivores but a large part of their diet is made up of grasses, berries, nuts, insects and carrion in addition to rodents, young deer and fish that they hunt.

Your adoption is symbolic and your donation will be used where it is needed most to help protect America's wildlife. Standard shipping via USPS is included in your adoption. Every adoption kit donation helps fund the planting of trees, which creates habitat for wildlife, prevents soil erosion, and increases canopy coverage for communities. All trees from these donations will be planted in the United States and are native species that help protect and restore the wild places that nurture wildlife.
