Adopt a Loggerhead Turtle

Loggerhead sea turtles are the most common sea turtle in the coastal waters of the United States and are listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. Loggerheads can be found hundreds of miles out to sea or in inshore waters - bays, lagoons, salt marshes, creeks, and the mouths of large rivers. They nest on ocean beaches and occasionally on estuarine shorelines with suitable sand. Loggerheads have long been hunted for their eggs and leather. Other threats to loggerheads include loss or degradation of nesting habitat from coastal development, degradation of foraging habitat, and marine pollution. Help NWF in its efforts to protect and recover the wild places that sustain wildlife. Adopt a loggerhead turtle today!
