Adopt a Kangaroo

Kangaroos are the world's largest marsupial and can be found in Australia and Tasmania in varied habitats. Females give birth to usually one baby, or joey, at a time that will immediately climb into their mother's pouch after birth, where it will nurse and continue to grow. A kangaroo's diet consists mainly of grasses and they can survive long periods of time without water. Kangaroo's legs do not move independently of one another, so rather than walk; they must hop on their hind legs to get where they are going. They can reach speeds of over 35 miles an hour and their gait allows them to cover 25 feet in a single leap and jump up to 6 feet high. Humans are the main threat to kangaroos, which are killed each year for their skins and meat. Adopt a kangaroo today!
