Adopt an Orangutan

Orangutans are highly intelligent primates and are close relatives of humans. Their enormous arm span suits them for a life in the dense rain forests in Southeast Asia since they spend much of their time in trees. They sleep in nests made of leafy branches and also use large leaves to shelter and protect themselves from the rains. Adult male orangutans are loners and will make howling calls when they move through the forest to ensure that they stay out of each other's way. Mothers, however, will stay with their young for many years until they develop the skills to survive on their own. Orangutans are so dependent upon trees that the most serious threat to them is the destruction of forest habitat from excessive logging. Adopt an orangutan today!
