Adopt an Emperor Penguin

The emperor penguin is the largest of all penguins and can be found in the extremely harsh Antarctic environment. Spending much of the year out at sea, penguins' wings act as flippers to propel them through the water. To keep warm, penguins huddle together to escape the cold, icy elements. During the breeding season, females will lay a single egg and then leave it with the father while they go on a hunting trip for food that could last for several months. During this time, the male emperors will keep the eggs warm by balancing them on their feet and covering them with a flap of skin known as a brood pouch. Emperor penguins are threatened by the loss of sea ice due to climate change. Adopt an emperor penguin today!
