Adopt a Harbor Seal

Harbor seals can be found on coastal islands, beaches, and sandbars in temperate, sub-arctic, and arctic waters of the North Atlantic and North Pacific oceans. They do not migrate regularly but will travel in search of new feeding grounds. Harbor seals are noted for their spotted coats and can vary in color from brownish black to tan or gray. They spend about half their time on land and the other half in water. Wary of people while on land, harbor seals will rush into the water if approached too closely or disturbed. In fact, they have been known to abandon their favorite land spots and their pups if disturbed too often. Help NWF in its efforts to protect and recover the wild places that sustain wildlife.
