Adopt a Cheetah

The cheetah's wide-open grassland habitat is disappearing in eastern and southwestern Africa at the hands of human settlers placing this animal on the USFWS endangered species list. Known for being the world's fastest land mammal, a cheetah can go from 0 to 60 miles an hour in just three seconds. Cheetahs have exceptionally keen eyesight and combined with their quick speed make them a formidable hunter. Their distinctive spotted coat makes it easy for them to blend easily into tall, dry grasses as they scan the landscape for prey. Female cheetahs usually have a litter of three cubs that spend their first year learning and practicing hunting techniques from their mother. Cubs will live with their mother for 1 1/2 to 2 years while male cheetahs live alone or in small groups. Adopt a cheetah today!
