Adopt a Snow Leopard

The snow leopard is native to the rugged mountains of Central Asia. Their typical mountain habitat range is between where the tree line stops and the snow line begins. Known for their beautiful thick fur, snow leopards have very large paws that act as snowshoes that keep them from sinking into the snow. They use their heavy fur–lined tail as a blanket to cover parts of their body against the cold habitat in which they live. They prefer to inhabit steep cliff areas and rocky ravines that provide them with the camouflage they need to ambush unsuspecting prey. These rare endangered cats are facing declining loss of habitat due to climate change as well as threats due to the high demand for their coats that are used in making garments and for their body parts that are used for traditional Asian medicine.
