Adopt a Barking Tree Frog

The barking tree frog - named for the male’s call, which sounds like a dog yapping — lives across the coastal states of the Southeast. Like most other amphibians worldwide, the barking tree frog has been dwindling in numbers. Scientists are not sure why this is occurring, but they do know that water pollution, acid rain, and the effects of global warming are important factors. This species lives in sandy areas, such as barrens and in low, wet woodlands. To help monitor frog populations and increase awareness of amphibian decline, NWF has organized Frogwatch USA, enlisting the help of more than 3,000 frog enthusiasts in its frog monitoring efforts. Please help us save wildlife from global warming and other threats. Adopt a barking tree frog today!
